We are a family with four adult children and two grandchildren. A year ago, we bought this 200-year-old village house. A new family home to spend some time together and to build new beautiful memories. We did a very thorough job on the house. There was no electricity in it yet, for example. The renovation was an amazing process. In no way comparable to the TV programme ‘I am leaving’ to which many of our friends referred. We had a lot of windfalls, such as beautiful beams coming out from under the ceilings and the most beautiful stone floors everywhere; a great Spanish contractor who was experienced in rebuilding old houses, and even started earlier than he had promised. Therefore, after only six months of renovation, we were able to spend Christmas with some of the children in our new house. Now we are working on the details like the art on the walls and thinking about how we can decorate the coach house or not and keep it open for parties and workshops etcetera. In the second garden on the other side of the house, there will be a swimming pool and a large terrace. That is the project we are working on now. We enjoy our new lovely place immensely. Close to the sea, cities and the Penedès.
